The Mastermind, George magazine, 1998

In 1998 I traveled to Vietnam with JFK Jr and some mutual friends to tour around the country and interview one of its greatest heros, General Vo Nguyen Giap, for  George magazine.

John had a fascination with interviewing his father's former enemies, such as Fidel Castro, and General Giap - People  that were part of his father's legacy," he explains. "The General was considered a national hero in Vietnam, known outside as the only general that won a military victory over America.

General Giap hadn't been photographed in 20 years, so seeing them together, and being present for the interview, was a remarkable experience.

Moscow’s Night Wolves MC, A living legend", Easyriders magazine”, Easyriders magazine, 1993

by Robert Curran & Clay Dog

There was small bar called Margaritas, that was on the Patriarchs pond in Moscow.  It was the local hangout for the Night Wolves .  I met Hirourk  there, the gang president- a towering figure; broad shouldered and squared jaw, all of 6 foot 3. We discussed doing an article on the Night Wolves that would let the world know of their existence in Moscow.  We decided we would do a shoot for Easy Rider.  I spent about a week with them going to concerts, getting on fights, riding around and getting some decent portraits.

Blood Sweat and Trees, 2015

“BLOOD, SWEAT AND TREES. Blood, Sweat and Trees. The Story of Saweto is a documentary about the Asheninka community of Saweto, an indigenous village in the Amazon who was victimized by illegal logging on their ancestral property. The murder of Edwin Chota and three other community leaders by hitmen hired by local loggers received international attention, creating a movement across the Amazon and all over the world to protect the indigenous people. In 2015, We traveled to Saweto representing the Rainforest Foundation with Alex Soros of the Soros Foundation and members of the press core to a small village on the Peru and Brasil border to document the village and its people.

Indigenous villagers only want to save their trees, their land, their way of life and for all of this to be at the mercy of loggers with weapons, then it is time to take action.
